How to take care of your Toe pads

Remove your Toe Pads from inside your pointe shoes

The first thing, and probably the most important, is remembering to remove your toe pads from inside your shoes between wears.

If you leave your toe pads, no matter which material they are made from, the pointe shoe will allow the damp/sweat from your feet to remain inside and therefore it will soak in, weakening and softening your pointe shoes from inside.
It’s a little trick which will make a huge difference!

After you removed your toe pads from inside your pointe shoes, you should allow them to dry in the open air. As this might be too much to do after a long day dancing, I’m sure that the last thing you want to do is unpack your dance bag, at least remember to store your toe pads in a breathable place. For example, this handmade Mini Bags from Onesenso made from 100% EU certifies cotton is perfect for this! While you keep your toe pads in your bag the soft cotton allows them to dry (… this will also incredibly reduce the smell!).

Did you know that Toe Pads can be washed?

You make your dance-wear work hard to keep up with you. This is why is good to wash your toe pads every now and then. Some types of material are more suitable for washing than others. The rubber and gel toe pads are one of the easiest to wash – hand wash in soapy water and let them dry. The cotton Toe Pad can be easily washed too.

Also, if you are a bit confused about how many types of Toe Pads are there, you should read our previous blog post, where we share many sorts of the various kinds of toe pads available here at Dancing Zone. Click here to read the post.

You can find all of our dance accessories in the dedicated section Føtter & Tåspiss Tilbehør. If you have any questions or are not sure what type of toe pad is best for you, drop a message at info@dancingzone.no or contact us via Facebook or Instagram. We will be happy to assist you!
